In May of 1998, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority approved the application of SJRI for the declaration of the 405-hectare property located in Barangays Palampas and Punao in the city, subject to Presidential Proclamation. Subsequently, SJRI secured additional subcontracts for civil works from the ethanol plant’s other contractors, Poyry Ltd. and KBK, valued at approximately P40 Million.
